Coincidences?

i've been doing alot more research than i ever have when i was a dub.

and i'm starting to realize its not just what the dubs teach that seem coincidental.

its what the bible shares.

Thanks everyone for replying. To the ones that answered my questions, I just want you to know I wasn't looking for answers to them. I was hoping there would be more questions that others have pondered upon. A few have asked them and I thank them for this. These are all great opinions that have been presented and that's what they are, opinions.

Truthseeker, thanks for your input. I agree with you regarding having full evidence. I mean, how can we expect to not deceive ourselves without it. Why is it that throughout all ages, everybody is always arguing about truth. Why can't we just have it straight in front of us? Or is that what makes us all humans? Oi, I just love this subject. Thanks again for all the replies everyone. Keep them coming.

Thanks Pete. I just wanted to ask questions. Not have probabilities. Because there's too many of them. I would like others to add to this thread what they think is too much of a coincidence in their eyes. Only ask questions, unless you have absolute, undeniable proof.

Thanks for the reply Caramel. It is good to ask the questions the other way around. But its sad that we're not allowed to do that when we're in the org. The questions I asked were rhetorical. I'm really not looking for answers. Just trying to ask questions. Questions that lead to other questions. And many people need those questions answered. They need all questions answered. Its sad when a religion tells you that you need to accept their answers or you're going to be condemned. Why can't we all just get along? Despite having the answers or not.

I've been doing alot more research than I ever have when I was a dub. And I'm starting to realize its not just what the dubs teach that seem coincidental. Its what the Bible shares. There just seems to be too many coincidences in why its hard to believe in a creator or the Bible is from God.

To name a few:

Why are all spirit creatures including God invisible?

Why did Adam and Eve have to be the first ones to sin, thus not giving us proof of perfect, everlasting humans?

Why are there no miracles in our day?

Why does God not speak to us personally? Why is it a one-way communication?

Why is it that out of any other time period, that we have to be living in the last days?

Why do we have to have faith, if we are to be saved?

There are many other numerous coincidences that people take for granted, when they should be questioning its validity. Where's the proof???

Please feel free to add to this thread with any other coincidences you've noticed. Or if you have any proof without any doubts.

Why is it even ex JW's run scared when they hear the word apostate?

i just told them where i work as a volunteer, that i am going to a workshop for those that have left a cult tomorrow.

they were all fascinated and wanted to know which cult i had belonged to.

i said jw's and this one guy said i he used to be one of them.

That's exactly how I felt, Sista, right before I decided to look up info online. I had so many doubts and questions that needed answered but there's no way I could get it from the society. But, it was very difficult to do this. Everything told me that what I was about to do was just terrible, the worst sin, but I had to just tell myself that I felt that way because of it being so indoctrinated in me.

I compared this situation to jumping off a high diving board. You get enough courage to climb up there and you walk to the edge of it and look down. Its a far drop, but you keep telling yourself that you'll be okay. You take your steps back then make a run for it, but stop yourself from jumping. Now, if you get enough nerve to pull it off, then great. But there's this fear put in all of us, and even if we logically told ourself different (that the religion is a lie) do we honestly feel that? Do we honestly believe that? And as for other JWs that have left and still believe it despite not wanting to believe it, its still deeply set in them. Unless they have the courage to face it, they'll always be on that highdive, never knowing the true freedom.

Yeah, Marshall. Its me David Koresh. Don't you remember? We went to college together. You were 10 seats ahead of me in "Cults 101" class. We had gotten together at a party one time and discussed about how we would take over the world. But then we thought that that was too big for us small-timers. So, we were going to start a band instead called "The Comet of Texas" but we just didn't have enough talent. Oh well. I wish it was the old days again.

Well, if you remember what we had discussed, we'll talk about it later then. Other than that, I suggest you lay off on the caffeine. Your eyes are about to pop out.

well, this is obviously rupert everett, but when i ran across this pic of him while playing fmz's "gimme" game here, i was surprised to find how much they resemble each other, from this distance, anyway.

same face shape, brow line, hairline, coloring, build, hair color, height (i think - he's 6' 3").

so you can just imagine him on the way to the convention (minus the cuff links).

i know this has been shown once before but when i read it again today and saw the boy crying in the courtroom it just made me sick with anger.

i'm so angry that the jw's let their children stick out so much that they get teased and picked on.

i'm angry that this boy was punished when defending himself.

I was born in the "truth" and have been in it all my life up until recently. I'm really curious where you're from because there are somethings that you have mentioned in the forum that doesn't add up. It seems to me that you are not true to the JW belief. I am just wondering if this is because of what you choose or if this is the common reasoning in your local congregation.

As for the matter of afterschool sports, the JWs do not allow this. I know, I had to go through school without being able to. And one more thing, I noticed your character profile is from Final Fantasy. One thing that the JWs teach is that you should not be playing RPGs. For one reason, it deals with violence and MAGIC which is a big no-no. And you waste alot of time on it which could be spent for more spiritual things. Look up role playing games in the watchtower library cd and you'll find a big article on it. I am not trying to put you down in any way, but I am very curious if this teaching is allowed in your kingdom hall. Please respond back. We'd all like to hear from you. And welcome to the forum by the way.
